and don't worry about the breath-holding so much. I suck at it too, seeing as I haven't practiced in almost a year.
I'm also thinking of skin diving as a possibility now, seeing as the lake that feeds the Gauley is supposed to be one of the best diving lakes in the eastern US. I think a trip is something like $30/person with a local guide service . . .
As a big fan of experiments, feel free to clue us in on some of yours - you may find that we are more interested than the usual herd.
